COVID-19 - What can we say, we are all devastated with the present pandemic and all our in person classes for the spring and summer had to be canceled. Not to mention planned trips we were so looking forward to. We sure do miss our students, friends and community affiliates but our health and safety first and foremost. We did a few private zoom classes but it wasn't the same as having the kids physically present. Technology and I need to continue the nurturing process but it's just not the same. We're thinking of adding another team member soon to assist with any future virtual classes and all things technology!
We have decided to give it a go and set up two FUNday SUNday classes in the fall - perhaps a Halloween themed series in person, limited students and ensuring parents that we abide by all COVID safety protocols set in place. Masks, sanitizing, proper distancing all while creating a fun and educational experience going forward.
To reflect back on our past classes, we launched our first Spring eight week culinary workshop which was a great start here in Florida! We had numerous sold out events of our FUNday SUNday Culinary Exploration classes as well as another sold out Family FUNday SUNday event at Huckleberry Farms. The students cooked with ingredients from the farm, met the resident farm animals and the families took a tour of the beautiful farm grounds. We dedicated a month to our Private Sunday Series wherein families welcomed us into their homes to cook and explore. I traveled back to NYC for a charity event, a requested private group class hosted by a former client whom I'm grateful for giving me the opportunity to do what I love in such a limited amount of time and in a NY minute, we were back in Florida! During the month of December, 2019 we hosted four private FUNday SUNday workshops and welcomed the holidays quite deliciously. We hope to offer other events in the coming new year as I cannot express my sadness not being able to offer what we had in the works. I feel we lost this year to COVID. Our Moonwellness Sisterhood Circle Gathering and VisionBoard Journey Workshops sadly took a seat all the way in the back due to COVID but I'm certain we'll gather sooner than later.

"Maria's nutritional workshops were extremely beneficial to our young dancers. Instilling good eating habits at a young age is crucial in a dancer's physical and mental growth. Our students thoroughly enjoyed Maria's hands on, fun & interactive approach in identifying proper nutrition and what foods/ingredients one should and should not eat. We look forward to inviting Maria back for more of these sessions!" (Rebecca, AFA Studio Manager, NYC)
"My view on food & wellness completely changed working with Maria. I'm so appreciative of her knowledge, guidance, humor, late night sessions, holding me accountable, and for celebrating each accomplishment with such genuine happiness and inspiration." (Joan D., Florida)
"Thank you Maria for the private cooking class for my son and I. He first wanted to learn how to make veggie fried rice but then changed his mind and chose the dumpling class. Truth be told, those were the most delicious and easy to make dumplings and the ginger dipping sauce was incredible!! Looking forward to booking another class as you've inspired him to learn and help me cook." (Nadine K., NYC)
Such an amazing class! Chef Maria has inspired my girls and they are eager to learn everything in the culinary world! Thank you for Everything you do!! (Ilene T., Palm Coast, Florida)👩🍳🥰
Had a ton of fun at the Farm today! My son cracked an egg for scrambled eggs like a Pro. He and I both shook until we could not shake anymore and made butter! We planted some Basil and then we got a tour of the Farm. We saw cows, a bull, farm cats and fed goats, pet rabbits and learned about a rescued horse. Thank you and your team for this Farm class and for making it possible for the children Chef Maria!
It was a great day and my son is looking forward to taking your
private classes. (Angela LP., Palm Coast, Fla.)
